 The Douglas Southern Electric Tramway
 
 On and around the DSET during its years of operation 1896 - 1939 
During World War 2, the Marine Drive was under military occupation by the Royal Navy.  Judging from the pictures above the line and roadway were never in a great state, but were probably substantially damaged during the war by motor vehicles and when the Royal Navy departed in 1945, it would have been a huge job to make the line operational again.  The pictures below are from the 1950s and later.
